Tip of the Week - Taming the Clutter in your Car

Decluttering your car doesn’t have to be stressful or overwhelming if you follow these few simple steps.

Always keep a trash can or receptacle for trash in your car – whenever you stop at a gas station to fill up, spend a minute emptying the trash and giving the interior of your car a quick once-over to discard anything not needed. Place a bin or tote in the trunk of your car for each of your kids or for the major activities your family is engaged in – one for the kids’ sporting gear, one for shopping and so on. This will keep like items together and keep them organized.

Finally, every time you arrive home make it a rule that everyone grabs something from the car and takes it inside – no more leaving things to deal with later.  A few simple steps and your car will stay looking like new!

Tip of the Week: Organize your Cords & Cables

To avoid tangled cords, go cordless where you can – mouse and keyboard – and eliminate as much ‘spaghetti’ as you can.  Be sure to label all cords so that you can easily find what goes to what.

Using cable ties, spiral ‘cordies’ or ‘cord catches’ help keep cords together and plug-ins readily accessible.

Keep cords you seldom use in a separate box or drawer and cords for cell phones and cameras at a separate charging station.
